A Design Primer: Tin Installations with Pattern #3
Design Overview
American Tin Ceilings produces 37 patterns for design aesthetics ranging from traditional to modern. One of our most popular patterns is Pattern #3, a subtle but intricate design with a low profile depth. This design features beautiful floral coins and arching diamonds, allowing for a noticeable and impactful design element in a space without being overpowering. The low profile depth of Pattern #3 is also a favorite for backsplashes because it can be easily wiped clean and sits almost flat against the wall. Pattern #3 is available in each of our 50 colors. From a clean and minimal white, to our Artisan Finishes that highlight the embossed detailing of the panel, to moody mochas and blacks for dramatic interiors, Pattern #3 is a great choice in projects large and small to add texture, color, and refinement to any space.
A smaller repeat of our equally popular Pattern #3, interior designers, architects, and homeowners continue to wow our staff with this exceptional tin panel. Below are a couple favorite installations.
Backsplashes
This bright and breezy Brentwood, CA home designed by Jill Wolff features a stunning tin backsplash in Pattern #3. The delicate texture provides a pleasing counterpoint to the smooth countertops and cabinetry.
Ceilings
A showstopping kitchen from Next Step Builders, Pattern #3 with crown molding and filler panels looks right at home with dark granite and custom cabinetry.
Wainscoting
Tin wainscoting is one of our favorite applications of Pattern #3. Like backsplashes, the unobtrusive profile depth makes this tile ideal for flat application against a wall. A popular alternative to beadboard, tin wainscoting allows for a unique and eye catching design element in bathrooms, entryways, staircases, and anywhere else your creativity is inspired!
Commercial
Pattern #3 is a great choice for commercial spaces because its subtlety does not overpower other design elements; however, it also holds its own as a unique and noticeable feature of a commercial space. Tin is one of the most photographed and hashtagged features of many commercial spaces – customers love to engage its unique beauty and share it with friends. Pattern #3 is showcased in this Amsterdam coffee shop in an industrial context – perfectly fitting in with the concrete walls, bold factory lettering, locker details, and fanlights.
